Type of a scam Government Grant
Someone called me from 235-741-1112. They said that I had been randomly selected to receive a government grant of $8,700. They had my name, address and phone number (probably purchased from the credit card company I just got a new account. Anywho, they gave me another number to call to finalize the process for me to receive my "grant" money. The next number to call was (315) 557-0344. I called it just for kicks and was told in order to receive my "grant" money I would need to pay a fee of $199. At which point I hung up.
If the IRS really wanted to give me money I’m sure they would send a check and a letter stating what it’s for. I am sure these people are making a lot of money off of too many naive Americans.
