Type of a scam Phishing
Turo is masquerading as a Share Ride rental company similar to the AirBnB platform for vehicle rentals. They immediately deny your first booking and send a message claiming you are denied due to a negative “Auto Insurance Score” supplied by TransUnion and ask you to remit sensitive information such as photos of your government issued ID, photos of your credit card, photos of your face while holding your ID, a Utility Bill, proof of employment, a pay stub reflecting your SSN and travel itineraries and tickets. BE AWARE. Stay away! Obvious phishing scam.

Used TURO (the AIRBNB of car rental, where you rent other people’s car on line). Got to Phoenix and thinking I was renting a nice Camry, turned out the Camry was completely HAIL DAMAGED and the back window was so screwed up I could hardly see out the back window making the car very dangerous. I was on vacation so I just dealt with the scammer who listed the car as a nice Red Camry. Told TURO afterwards and all they did was lock me out so I could not write a review. I told TURO to at least get this car off the road before someone gets killed.
