Total money lost $500

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I thought I purchased a puppy from an online ad. I sent this person, Miguel Santos, a $500 deposit for the puppy via PayPal. I then received an email from the above listed company, "Trust Postal," with my "tracking number" on the delivery of my puppy. Later I received a phone call from an individual from this company urging me to check my email for further instructions. I found the email in the scam folder. This email from Trust Postal informed me that I needed to pay a deposit ranging from $1500-$2800 for a ventilated crate and a vaccine in order to deliver the puppy. I could choose either a first, second, or third class crate in which to transport the puppy. They then called me relentlessly throughout the evening instructing me first to send the money via PayPal, then telling me I could purchase Walmart gift cards, then telling me I could transport the money via Zelle. I didn’t have the money available but they kept trying to find ways to get me to transfer the money. They told me they didn’t accept credit cards. They said the money would be refunded when the puppy was delivered. I called the seller very angry and he said the puppy would be delivered the next day. I again received an email from Trust Postal asking me to send $600. I refused, and I have not heard from them again. Needless to say the puppy was never delivered.
