Type of a scam Yellow Pages/Directories

I was emailed by TRC Multimedia about advertising in a quarterly publication that they were contracted to publish for 3 local golf communities. Upon visiting via phone they offered to upgrade to the full page ad at a discounted rate and showed their sample work through their web site which is professionally done. However I didn’t research whether they were truly affiliated with the golf communities and gave a CC to have the ad created and printed with the agreement that changes could be made before quarterly issues and that it would be a prepaid ad for the full year. After edits and approval of an ad, I was then given the runaround every time I inquired about publishing dates, receiving copies etc. This went on for several months before I realized that they were a scam when I contacted one of the country clubs to inquire about their affiliation with the publication. Their response was that they had heard there was a scam taking place of that nature, which was a clear affirmation that I had been duped. I’m not trying to dispute the charge and haven’t gotten access to a person within the company.

Total money lost $300

Type of a scam Counterfeit Product

I got a phone call where I was offered an ad in a "coupon book" type thing for my business at local country clubs. The woman sounded very informed and answered all of my questions and charged my credit card for $300. When I realized the area she was going to supposedly run this ad was in another state, I asked them NOT to do it and refund my money. They will no longer answer or return my calls, or reply to any emails. I have refused any products and services from them, and they have not returned my money to me. This company is clearly a scam.
