I tried to purchase a vehicle on Craigslist for what seemed to be a very good price for that model truck, Ford 150 Raptor. The ad was written by a woman saying that her husband had passed away and she was looking to sell the truck because she did not want to keep it. The truck, from what pictures were provided, seemed to be in outstanding condition. I was then informed that a third party vehicle transportation service would be used to transport the vehicle from Kansas to where I live in New Jersey. The same week the truck was to arrive, the company asked for the remainder of the money to be wired over (there was an agreement that I would pay half now and half at a later time). The day before the vehicle was to be delivered, a bad snow storm hit here in New Jersey causing terrible traffic. When the vehicle was not delivered the next day and nothing was heard from the company, I tried to call from my phone and they were not picking up. Then I called from my wife’s phone and they picked up. They said on the phone they were having issues contacting the truck driver. Soon after I received an email saying that due to severe weather the delivery was delayed until the next morning. The next morning comes and still no delivery and this time there is no response at all from the company when I tried to call regardless of what phone number I used. This is when I knew I had been scammed out of thousands of dollars.
