Type of a scam Online Purchase
I had posted an ad to sell my vehicle on Craigslist. I got a text from someone who seemed very interested to buy the car but requested a vehicle history report first. I was sent a link to a website to get the report. It was only after entering the VIN that I was asked to provide a credit card. I then searched for this website via google and this particular one that this person linked to was not in the top 10 searches. However, the MO fit that of a scam listed by the BBB; so after going through the process on another website and finding the cost for the vehicle report from seemingly legitimate sites, I texted the person back that I could have one made available but he would not be getting any information via the AutoFactsReport.com. The person, who is located well out of my area, wished me good luck and has not responded since; although he end with that he "really wanted a Dodge!"
