Type of a scam Debt Collections
For the last week this number has been appeared on my caller id 717-831-*** (I am very suspicious of numbers that are unknown) A voice messge was left saying that if I didn’t contact them immediately they would procede with leal matters and that the call served as official legal notification. So I call the number back because it was a local number. It was an automated system and it was impossible for me to get an operator for assistance. The next day I receive a call from the same number and *** *** *** tells me he represents the Thompson Group (a legal firm)out of Georgia. and that a payday loan was defaulted upon in 12/2011 and now the payday loan company, Triple Services is suing me. I alerted them that I never had a payday loan from Triple Services but he said he had my SS#, address and Bank info that said different. He made sure to tell me that as a DOD civilian employee it was in my best interest to rectify the matter. I asked to be forwarded the documentation and ** *** said that as soon as I paid him, I would recieve all pertinent documentation. When I said that my attorney would need to look over the information to advise me on what to do, he became biligerant. He raised his yelled and became absolutely disrespectful, I hung up. I immediately alerted my financial institution and they looked over my statements and confirmed that no such transaction existed.
