Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
On Feb. 17,2016, I received the attached letter stating that I had won $1,450,000.00 and instructing me to call my agent, Mr. Archer Philips. When I called, Mr. Philips asked me to confirm my identity with driver’s license or social security number. When I declined to give him that info, he said I would have to come to New York at the given address to claim my winnings during office hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4:00. Although the letter did not state a deadline for claiming the prize, he said I must claim by March 3. I would love to believe I have won this money, but fear it is a scam.
