Was looking to purchase a Great Dane puppy from this woman. We emailed back and forth and she sent me pictures of the puppy I thought I was purchasing. She sent me a contract via email which she signed and so did I. After that, I sent her the payment through a moneygram from Wal-Mart. After she received payment she was going to ship the dog from Texas through Delta airlines to my city so I could pick her up. When we got to the airport there was no dog. After that I emailed her about this and her granddaughter said she was in the hospital and had been in an accident and would email me when she was discharged. After that I googled her full name, Maria Teresa Awrey and there was a report complaint board set up describing everything she had done to me. I contacted moneygram and the police. Now, I am posting the scam in detail every place I can so others don’t make the same mistake I did.
