"Virus alert appeared on the computer screen to call phone number right away and do not shut down your computer or it will crash. Computer seems to be "locked" I could not shut it down, so I called the number. A man on the phone said he could get rid of the virus for $200. I paid him and he remotely controlled my computer to "uninstall the virus". After we got off the phone, I immediately called my credit card company to talk about it because I felt uneasy about the situation." This is an account from my grandmother about the incident.
