Type of a scam Tech Support

A red screen and dialogue box appeared on my laptop screen. A loud audio message warned me that my passwords and banking information were at risk. I was directed to call the Microsoft tech at 877-908-8210. A man with an accent from India said he represented Technetworkexperts and their support number was 855-550-6111. If I allowed them to access my computer, they could eliminate the hacker problem, but it would cost me one-time fee of $499. Foolishly, I paid them. Later, I discovered that a company, Nexway Assured Money from San Francisco, CA, deducted $499 from my credit card account. Upon calling McAfee, which is what I should have done in the first place, they were able to clean and restore the 32 problems in my computer. Amazingly, I got a cancellation e-mail from Nexway stating that my order was cancelled. The bank statement showed I had been refunded my money. I was fortunate.
