Type of a scam Tech Support

The company sends a message that pops up on your iPhone indicating there is a hacker alert and has an 800 number for you to call to protect yourself from data loss. It has an ‘OK’ button that you can click to call, but nothing happens. If you do call the 800 number, they collect your credit card information and charge a $99.99 fee to your account for a 3-year security protection plan. Then they have you go through the steps to delete browsing history on your iPhone. After speaking with Apple, it is suspected that this company sends this alert out creating a potential issue that could be real and then has you go through legitimate steps to rectify the issue. They claim to be employed by Apple to handle their security. In my situation, they gave me a reference number "ios79561" which was probably fake.
