Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
I am from western , ny…I seen a add on Craigslist for a motor home so we contacted the seller the camper was under Louisville.kentucky.several weeks went by and so we dismissed it as sold…Two days ago out of the blue a lady contacted us saying it was available…we were excited as we had been looking for one..she sent us all this info about how its in Georgia not Kentucky as they had posted 1000 miles away..they told us we had to go through this car company…Total car sales group in order to purchase it…at first everything seemed legit but on multiple occasions we asked for someone to call us as we didn’t like all these emails…until the seller ([email protected]) told us we had to register before anyone called us…so we did but we remained reluctant to send cash or our identifacation as they requested repeatedly..we told them we wanted to see it in person and hand our cash to live person..I don’t think they expected us to drive from Ny to Georgia but we assured them the whole time that was our plan…subsequently we began our journey their to winterville, georgia…we contacted the seller and total car sales group that we were 3 hours away from them with the money in hand…They sent me an email again stating we needed to send money first and our identifacation before hand or they would cancel our transaction..we just had drove eleven hours and didn’t want to lose out on the camper so we reluctantly sent a picture of my licence…within minutes I received an email cancelling the transition and saying we owed them money as we didn’t follow their terms…they thought we should blindly say oh well…I am a disabled veteran with ptsd and don’t know what to do at this point…they have all my info on my license..and not once did they call meet
