I purchased a TCL ROKU tv, in order to activate it I had to follow instructions on the tv and enter certain information. It got to a point nothing was working and a message came up that the tv was locked, to go to their website and register. During registration they offered me several tv packages, which I did not want, because the display on the tv read "there is no charge to register or activate the device". I could not continue registering without the purchase, so they provided me with a phone number. I called the number and they said that there was a charge for some type of service, it was not to activate and register. The first person was rude and pushy, I hanged up, called 2 more times, the same thing. I decided to call TCL, because I was ready to pack up the tv and return it, that’s when I learned they were scammers. TCL asked me for the scammers information, and helped me set up the account, at no cost to me.
