Type of a scam Tax Collection
This people appear to be calling people en masse to try to trick them into believing they owe unpaid taxes. I do not owe unpaid taxes, and asked several questions about how they got my information (they told me I’d sent it to them somehow — wrong), what their business address is, the full name of the corporate entity, and for a manager to speak to. They gave me a "call back number" — 917-905-4666 — that was disconnected to get me off the phone.
This is predatory behavior that likely works on elderly or infirm individuals who aren’t savvy enough to see what’s happening. I informed them on the phone that I would be making a report like this one unless they could convince me they were a legitimate organization and that their actions are despicable.
