Type of a scam Employment
I first received an email from a Ted Greene telling me I was accepted as a mystery shopping to Walgreens. Then I received a priority mail envelope with a fraudulent cashier’s check from Auburn Bank, remitter Derrell Freeman. It gave instructions to cash the check and then buy $500 in ebay gift cards and $25 in groceries at 3 Walgreens stores. The groceries would be for me, but the ebay gift cards I would scratch the back security number off, take photos of them and email or text them to Carla Brackett ([email protected], 619-375-5665) along with the evaluation answers of the 3 stores. Then I would receive a mailing address of a charity to send the gift cards to. The check was for $1890, with $300 being my pay and $1500 in ebay gift cards and $50 in groceries. The remaining $40 they would tell me what to do with after all was completed – preferably in 48 hours.
