On 1/23/17 received a pop up screen suddenly with voice supposedly from Microsoft freezing the browser advising you to call this toll-free number giving a specific error number – warning that if you close said browser Microsoft would freeze your computer to prevent damage to the network. When calling advised some malware was installed on less than 1 year old pc even though had active McAfee antivirus software – and talked into paying a $194.38 fee to repair and keep system safe for 1 year. Ten days later had similar message same error number but when called person never heard of me and talked into paying $201.00 for repair to different firm. 2 days later determined these were scams and did a charge back thru bank on the $194.38 fee to Sync IT Consulting – and stopped payment on the e-check did to second party for $201.00. Now Sync IT Consulting is pestering for reversal of charge back.
