Type of a scam Tech Support
Called from 1.800.888.5656 stating they were calling about my problems with Windows on my computer and asked if I was in front of my computer so they could help fix the problems with my software and that they represented all window software on all types of computers. I kept telling them I was not sure they were calling from HP. They showed me the site www.swiftcreations.com stating they fixed all the Windows problems. They had me get into my computer info saying they knew my CLS ID which only HP and I had. They gave me that number. They gained access to my computer thru Teamviewer.com. They even transferred me to the senior Security Manager because I was expressing my concern if they were legit, "Roger Smith". He said his call back number was 888.245.6440. I did not try to call back that number. I become very worried when I knew they had access to my computer and everything on it. I hung up and turned off my computer and called BBB whom told me to call Microsoft. I called Microsoft tech support and had them help clean up my computer for $199. Not sure if they were not a scam too. They said we only had a warranty on our hard drive and not the software? But they said they could fix the problem if I was being hacked so I really did not feel I had a choice.
