I WENT ONLINE TO THEIR WEBSITE AFTER CHECKING FOR ANY RED FLAGS AGAINST THEIR NAME AND REQUESTED A PUPPY I PICKED OUT. MINUTES LATER I GOT AN EMAIL CONFIRMING AND REQUESTING I SIGN A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE. I SIGNED AND WAS GIVEN THE INFORMATION TO SEND THE MONEY (THE TWO OPTIONS WERE ZELLE OR PAYPAL) i PICKED ZELLE THINKING IT WAS SECURE THRU MY BANK. BANK OF AMERICA. THE NAME TO SEND IT TO WAS BROWN.KELL..IT CAME UP AS KHADREAKA..THEY CONFIRMED. IT WOULD BE $550 FOR THE PUPPY AND $150.00 TO SHIP, A TOTAL OF $700.00 I CALLED THE PHONE NUMBER ON THE CONTRACT AND RECEIVED A TEXT BCK STATING THEY WERE AT WORK AND TEXTING OR EMAIL WAS THE BEST COMMUNICATION TILL THEY GOT OFF TO SHIP THE PUPPY THE NEXT DAY. THE NEXT DAY I RECEIVED A CALL FRM DELTA TRAVEL FREIGHT COURIER WITH TRACKING NUMBER #DTFC040181542108 STATING I NEEDED TO SEND $890.00 MORE DOLLARS FOR A SPECIAL CRATE. I CONTACTED MY BANK AND WASNT ABLE TO RECEIVE ANY HELP OR REFUND. I NEVER GOT THE PUPPY.

Tried to purchase a new purebred Samoyed puppy. Website looked OK initially lots of pictures and videos of supposedly available puppies. Gave a phone number which they didn’t answer, so proceeded on-line. Conversed via e-mail to secure puppy and schedule pick-up. Wanted down payment before would schedule meeting or pick-up, $300. Indicated payment be made through google pay via a credit card or debit card except there is no option to use credit to transfer money to an individual through google pay only a debit option. A big red flag. Thankfully I never do this so emailed back no credit option so gave me Western Union option. Western union also has only a debit or cash option, so I chose cash.
Had me text picture of receipt from WU, but I chose the cheaper fee at WU for money available the next day. Red flags started falling as I suddenly realized this resembled a scam. I investigated and it had all the hallmarks of the on-line puppy scam. No conversation with breeder, no real application process, a below market price for puppy, and me being strung along without getting answers to questions I was asking.
I went back to WU the same day I and told them that I suspected a scam and that the money was not due to be available until the next day and could they cancel it and refund me my money. They did. For me happily I was able to recoup my money. I subsequently learned that on-line scammers like to use google pay because your debit info is input and they can steal money from your bank account. This happened to my friend as I was detailing this scam I almost fell for. He was not so lucky, they stole $3000 from his bank account through google pay. Please beware.
