Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
My 77 yr old mother received a call on 5/4/16 saying she had won 2.5 million dollars and a new car from the Sweepstakes Clearing House and that he wanted to come out to the house and bring her a check but then she would have to go to a xxxxxx to send a check for $5000 to pay for the taxes. She wrote down his name & number (John Washington 325 272-0185) and I made contact where as he told me the same thing but I was not buying into it. That evening she received a call from a man stating he was John’s supervisor and that they made a mistake and it was 5 million and she would need to checks. I took the phone and said hello three times with no response and I said do not call this number again and he hung up on me. The next morning my cell phone at 10:07 am from a restricted & unavailable number 6 times until 10:20 then a number from Illinois should up 618-615-4483. left me a message stating I had won a prize that they had in there office and to call them. Guess they recorded my number when I called from the day before. They have continued to call my number over & over. I will not answer this call because it is a scam.
