Type of a scam Employment
I received in today’s mail (priority mail) envelope containing letter for Ebay/Walmart Survey Program Instruction Letter and check payable to me in the amount of $1,967.80. Letter instructed me to immediately deposit check in my bank account then within 48 hours go to Target/Walmart/CVS etc and purchase $1600 worth of gift cards for Ebay or Walmart. I was allowed to keep the difference for my trouble. I first tried to call the telephone number as the number to text when gift cards were purchase but no answer. I then googled the business name and address on the envelope. A private address came up. I am in the securities industry and immediately guessed that this was a money laundering or some sort of scam to obtain money.
