Student Loans of America LLC is sending postal correspondence and communicating over the phone as if they are the Department of Education or a subsidiary of it. First through mail with documents entitled "EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY-FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN NOTICE" and "SECURED DOCUMENT," with a Benefit ID and 1-866 number. Upon calling this number, personal information is requested to "retrieve account information," in order to sign you up for a payment plan. Then legal forms are emailed to you for electronic signature.
