"Student Loan Forgiveness Program", called them back they gave me a whole spiel…when i started asking questions like "how did you get my information", "I don’t remember filling anything out like this" "can i do this online?", he said YEA GOOD LUCK and hung up on me, so obviously fake. He hacked into my FAFSA ID while i was on the phone with him. Luckily I have my security settings set to email me every time I log in, I got that text and started asking questions.

I live in Nebraska and all my student loans are from schools in Nebraska. I received a call and voicemail from Garden Grove, CA saying I was prequalified for the student loan forgiveness program. I did not call them back. I googled them and based on what I researched they are a scam so I wanted to report them here.

Getting phone calls almost daily from the phone number *** which when you call back, hangs up on you. However the voice mail left is from "Michelle" and asks to call her back at a different number ***. My phone is on the National Do Not Call List and while I have told them repeatedly to remove me, I continue to get these robo calls almost daily. Today, I decided to call back the other number again and let the person who answered it have it. She ("Annie" or "Angie") promptly hung up. At least this number looks like someone could trace it. I am assuming its a scam because we have no student loans nor do our now grown children.

I have been getting multiple calls from an organization calling themselves the Student Loan Advisory Board. They’ve been leaving messages on my voicemail stating they have reviewed my student loans and have great news on how they can consolidate or even get rid of my student loan debt. My caller ID does not indicate the company name but does indicate the state the call was from which is never the same state or the same phone number twice since I block the previous number that called. I’ve never called them back because I do not have any student loans and if they were truly who they say they are they’d know that. BEWARE! This seems to be nothing more than a phishing scam to obtain personal information.

I get calls from this "Student Loan Advisory Board" almost every other day. Every time it’s a different phone number on the caller ID so even though I’m blocking the number they are still getting through. I have called this "company" multiple times to tell them I Do Not have any student loans (haven’t for 10+yrs) and take me off the call list but they just keep calling. Today I got another message on my phone so I called again. The first time I got "disconnected" or hung up on. I called back and got someone named Thomas who argued with me about taking me off the call list and basically said He didn’t ask for my feed back when I said I was going to turn them into the ScamPulse.com and hung up on me. The scary thing is these are always Americans making these scam calls. Its Not over seas or a recording. They say "This is Amanda with the student loan advisory board calling about– your federal student loans and I have some great news! Please call me back to discuss this my phone number is 866-406-0101 and have a blessed day" What a Load of crap. I can not stop them from call me I hope someone can shut this place down.

I recurved this call below and could not tell if this was a scam or not. When I returned the call, I asked what student loan they were referring to. The man in the other end had no info and asked for a reference number, which none was provided. As I asked more about what info they had on the loan, the person, said they had none, and I called Him. He seemed annoyed I was asking questions, and I asked him to remove me from their call list.
Below is the voicemail I received:
this is Evelyn calling with the student loan advisory board and um I’m just reaching out to you in regards to your federal student loan balances and I have some great news you have been prequalified for the student loan forgiveness program however it’s imperative that I speak with you just to soon as possible before these programs change so um give me a call you can reach me at 866-664-6160 um I look forward to speaking with you and have a blessed day…”

Multiple calls from the same woman (she has a distinctive, very professional-sounding voice) using a different name each time (Evelyn, Olivia, etc.). Exact same message as reported in other complaints, offering pre-qualification for the student loan forgiveness program. As my student loans were paid in full about 17 years ago, this is clearly a scam. I have not called them back.

I received a message on my land line from a so-called "student Loan Advisory Board", with instructions to call back at 888-704-1450 for student loan forgiveness….I called back from my land line and everytime I called back and questioned their credentials , they hung up on me…. subsequently they blocked my number coz I got a rapid busy signal when trying to call them again…so I called them from my cell phone and the number worked….one person in particular named Edgar hung up on me , I called back and got him again…. I confronted him and he hung up very quickly again on me… after that my cell was also blocked from calling them again…obviously a scam outfit,,,,the number that left the message on my landline was 475-500-0014(a non working number)

I started receiving numerous calls from the "Student Loan Advisory Board" about six months ago. I ignore all calls of unknown contacts, so a collection of voicemails started. As I listened, I began to notice a pattern… they were all the same voice, but a different name was used each time. This month, I noticed new voices–still from different phone numbers, different representative names, different callback numbers, and different call locations (New Madrid, MO; Washington, DC; Martins Ferry, OH; and many more)–regarding my federal student loan balances and their "student loan forgiveness program." Mind you, I DON’T HAVE STUDENT LOANS and never have. Either they’re legit and have bad information, or they’re a scam… I bet the latter! The representative on the messages requested I call back to speak to them as soon as possible before the programs change. I called one of the callback numbers just for the hell of it (I was curious about how the next part of the scam worked). I got the following automated systems saying,
"Thank you for calling. Please choose from one of the following prompts: If you have loans under $10,000, press 1. For loans over $10,000, press 2. If you don’t have loans or don’t need any assistance, press 5 to not be contacted again."
"Thank you for calling about your eligibility for student loan discharge and forgiveness through payments program. There is a big class-action lawsuit with *** and other loan servicers for mishandling students’ loans. Because of this, the government has budgeted programs that could get 20-100% of your student loan discharged or forgiven. This applies to all student loan statuses, including defaulted loans and borrowers that are currently being garnished. If your loans are paid off or this does not apply to you and you want to be removed, press 1. If you would like to see if you qualify for the student loan discharge and forgiveness program, press 2."
First off, the name of the organization was not mentioned at all. I was told by automation that my number would be removed. We’ll see. If it happens again, I’ll pretend I have student loans just to see what happens.

Hi,
i keep receiving voicemails from Brittany or Megan from the Student Loan Advisory Board….a way for me to lower my student debt with this one time deal they are offering. i never actually receive a call from them i just get a voicemail randomly pop up. i am going to reach out to my mobile carrier to find out how this keeps happening even though i block the number they never physically call. they give a reference number to use when calling and the best part of this whole scam of theirs is that i don’t have any student loans. i want to call them back and ask info but i have to figure out a way not to reference my name or provide the reference number, because i don’t want them to know or have any of my information on hand.
i get this call about 1 time per week. it was persistent for a while then stopped for a few months and then has started all over again.
i hope this helps anyone who may also be receiving these calls -NEVER give them any info or money!

This place claims to be able to forgive your federal student loans. Mind you, I have none.
When I called them to confront them about where they got their information from, they just kept asking me if I wanted them forgiven and would not tell me where they got their information from.
This is troubling as I know many who do have them.
They will probably ask you for a fee to wipe out your loan. Don’t take the bait!

Megan, from the student loan advisory board, said that she could consolidate my student debt. Great news I thought, it’s only been paid off in it’s entirety for a year now. This means that somehow this company or organization was able to get my telephone number and information about me having taken out a loan for education. Looking at other reviews here at the ScamPulse.com it seems they take four payments then bounce.

I’ve received multiple calls from persons from this fake business. The lure is student loan forgiveness. The woman on the message named herself as the “student loan advisory board” but the rep said they were the “Federal Loan Forgiveness Program” the latter of which there is no such name. When I called back to see how far they would take this, I got as far as asking a question like “why are you asking me these questions?” before my call would “drop.” They obviously have your number screened after that because you are no longer able to reach a live person. Please beware—-these calls are SCAMS.

They call constantly about student debt relief. I have no student loans or debt, and when I call them back they say they will remove me from their call list and then they immediately hang up on me. I call back to verify that they are actually removing my number and they hang up again. Ask for a supervisor, they hang up again. Total scam.
