Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief
In Jun 2017, I was contacted by Mr. Marc B*** with Student Debt Union about lowering my student loan payments and eventually student loan forgiveness after payment of xx years. Considering I have had this debt since 1995 and it never seemed to go away, I jumped on what I thought was a great opportunity. Everything seemed legit, I never once saw a reason to question them because I had gone through the same process with two or 3 other companies when transferring my student loan and it all lined up. At first the payments went through no problems, I faxed them the documents from *** *** as they requested since "Student Debt Union" was my primary lender and they were working with *** on my account. Over a period of time it became harder to reach them, no return calls, when I finally reached someone I had to wait on a callback from someone else. Then nothing! I let a few months go by thinking eventually they would contact me for their money. Instead I received a letter from *** *** with the word delinquency on it – I called them to see what the problem was since my payments were sent to the other place and on Friday, Feb 1st I found out I had been scammed! I plan to contact my bank, file a police report and do whatever else I can to bring this fake company down and get the word out to everyone to be careful when someone contacts you about lowering your student loan and student loan forgiveness.
