Received an email saying thanks for replying to our ad (don’t remember replying to an ad with this particular description). The position was offering $20/hr for an administrative assistant for a new Store House Charity office opening in Norcross, GA. Jonathan Sperry (Google search leads to a movie) asked for a time to call for a phone interview. When he called he launched into reviewing my resume, went over the job description and gave me an assignment to look up the costs for various office equipment. After doing so, he said he would send me check for $2000+ the next day. As this was very suspicious, I did some research. When looking up the Storehouse Charity (note the spelling), it came up that the business is based in Australia. When I reached out to them, they said it was a scam (they have no stores/business in the US) and to contact the police. The check did come in the mail and has not been cashed and all forms of communication have ceased and been blocked.
