Type of a scam Employment
A fake check was sent to me for $2480.19 of which I would supposedly keep $400 with detailed instructions to visit four stores and purchase four gift cards for $500 each (for Vanilla gift cards, which I’ve never heard of) or eBay gift cards and then take pictures of the serial numbers and pin numbers of these cards and send them via text to a number with a Harrisburg PA area code though the originating check was sent from Los Angeles, CA. Though the check was issued from Fifth Third Bank, there is no address or phone number from the branch that this cashier’s check originated from.
