Type of a scam Tax Collection
These people called me claiming to be the IRS.. said had audited me and I am had committed tax fraud. Made it sound urgent, threatened to have me picked up by local authorities and taken to jail, put me on a time limit, and didn’t want me to discuss with anyone else… definitely tried to isolate and bully me. Said I owed $6,476.25 and if couldn’t pay today then I go to jail or pay 3,000 by credit card.
I didn’t fall for it but had received a statement from the IRS about 2 months ago so it definitely rattled me.
