We tried to buy a kitten online, and found this specific “breeder”.
Everything seemed pretty legit – contact was over text, pictures and videos were provided, they promised to give us veterinarian contact and all of that. I started getting suspicious when they wanted to use Zelle as payment, but figured that it wasn’t too big of a red flag. Then, they told me that we couldn’t pick the cats up at the airport, and would have to pay the home delivery fee. I asked multiple times why we couldn’t just pick them up from the airport, and they claimed thats just how they work. It was an extra $70, so I wasn’t too concerned. The final tactic was when the “delivery company” emailed me and told me that I would have to rent a refundable “Thermal Electronic Crate” for $1000.
