Type of a scam Employment
I received an email from [email protected] with a job description for a position as a work-from-home Quality Examiner. I was asked to reply with the most recent copy of my resume, I was interested so I replied. I was asked to reply to the email address [email protected] Then I received an email from [email protected] saying he was a Senior Manager at SSTI Insurance, LLC. The email went into great details about the position, training, bonuses, and FAQ’s. It included 3 attachments(1 PDF, 2 Word doc). The PDF file wanted a scanned copy of my driver’s license and a copy of my most recent utility bill with home address. The two word documents wanted my bank information for direct deposit and my personal information with shipping address. I checked out their website http://www.sstiinsurance.net which looks legitimate but was still uncomfortable with providing all my personal information. I looked up the website’s registration using WHOis and found it was registered to a company in Malaysia. Then I went to AM Best Ratings Service for insurance companies and found the company does not exist.
