I was called by Peter A. Smith claiming to be from SSA stating that I was involved in a money laundering scheme and that they had found over 23 accounts with my name, address and phone number associated with the money laundering scheme. SSA stated they were going to seize all of my assets and told me to take all of my money out of my checking account. They also wanted to know how much money I had in my account and what I would be withdrawing from the account. I did not tell him what was in my checking account.
This is not the first time I have been targeted by fraud. They have also taken my social security check and tried to cash it and open an account in another state.

I received a few calls from this number and did not answer. They left this message…
“Criminal attorney of record to return the call the issue at hand is extremely time sensitive the number for you to call the SSA back is 915-229-4638 the reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that there’s a legal enforcement action filed on your Social Security number for fraudulent activity so before this matter goes to the state court house and before you get arrested if you need any information or have any question kindly call us back at 915-229-4638 thank you…”
