Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Sent me a email to become a secret shopper for Walmart or K-mart wanted full name, address and phone number. Was told I would not be charged a fee. They would send me all the training information and my wages would be 300 per assignment. No commitments is made on this job, flexible hours. At least two evaluations a week will be assigned. Will provide all money for the evaluations. Will send money order/payment check for a certain amount which you will be required to cash at your bank, then deduct your salary. Received cashier’s check from Mission Federal Credit Union for 2350.00 with a letter with a Walmart logo on it. I was asked to deposit the check at a ATM or Bank to withdraw the funds. Keep 300, spend 50 at Walmart and buy 4 gift cards 500.00 each. Then write a report on how the service was and send them a copy of the gift cards and numbers. I sent a email asking questions, none of them where answered. They sent me two text messages wanting to know where the gift cards were and if I cashed the check. I called the bank Check number was good but that check was already cashed two years ago for a different amount. They also used 720-5602223 as a text number.
