Type of a scam Travel/Vacations
Third party brokers should identify themselves immediately. They should disclose there is a fee up front do not hide it as part of the ticket price. I got a phone number for *** from an ad for *** on Facebook (first mistake). Complete with proper logo. When I went to the link to get a phone number, it had enlarged on the page to call *** dial 1-877-926-0222. I called and the person identified himself as Steve at the reservations desk but never said Southwest Airlines (2nd mistake). He quoted a price that included the fee but made it appear it was the full price of the tickets. Then he said it would appear on my credit card as 2 charges. Never saying it was a service fee for booking the tickets. Later that evening I received an alert from my credit card for a charge of $415.00 that could be fraud. The had booked legitimate flights on *** for $1035.96 nut added $415 as a booking fee. The never disclosed this. Luckily my credit card company sent me an alert. I called the original no. back 1-877-926-0222 and they still never disclosed it. By the time I called *** (1-800-435-***) the correct number given to me by the credit card company & cancelled the previous transaction & rebooked which took about 30 minutes, I tried to call back the bad number & it just plays elevator music nobody answers. I guess they have moved on to defraud somebody else.
