Type of a scam Employment

I was contacted via text on 5/23/18 by a woman named Bianca Augafa, saying that recruiters had reviewed my resume through my indeed account. She told me through text that the job was paying 39.00$ an hour and it was a “work from home” position. She set me up with a “interview” through hangouts app with someone named Roman. Roman asked me the general question that an employer would ask a candidate for a interview. After all questions he said that I got the job. He basically said that I would be receiving merchandise in a package and then said I would be sent a check to buy the merchandise needed for the job. I kept asking for a w-4 form to be sent to me but he kept saying I would get it in the incoming package. I was skeptical from the beginning but when I received the check for over 4,000$ I knew something was wrong! The address that is on the FedEx package is actually a police station in KANSAS. The phone numbers on their website are ALL FAKE! And when I asked to speak to him “Roman” over the phone he wouldn’t respond! I have proof of all communication. I did delete the app and told him that I would no longer be in contact. I honestly think they should pay me the money that was promised. I also received a offer letter but I DID NOT sign it due to suspension.
