Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received a direct message from a someone in my network on LinkedIn recommending this company who was looking for new mystery shoppers. They ask you to fill out an application on LinkedIn. I did and then after, my colleague sent a message to all her contacts saying her account was hacked. I looked online and saw there were many scams involving mystery shopping opportunities. A couple weeks later, I received an email saying I had been chosen as a shopper and that I should email back if I wanted to accept. I did NOT email back, yet about a week later I received a Priority Mail envelop with a cashiers check made out to me for $1,925.00 and a letter with instructions on how to proceed next. That included cashing the check and getting the cash from my bank. Keeping $300 and using the rest to purchase Vanilla Gift Prepaid cards, take photos of front and back and email the photos with your report.
