I received a disconnect notice from my utility company, South Central Power, I went to Krogers and paid via cash to go. The next day, Saturday, I received a call from 888-674-6937 and David Wallace indicated he was a rep for South Central Power Co and the $304.79 they received did not go through properly and to prevent my electric from being disc’d @noon, I needed to take cash and purchase a Moneypak card. Call back and scratch off the number from the back. I would be reimbursed for the $304.79 which was incorrectly processed. I did it. On Monday, I called South Central Power, they said they received the payment, and I had been scammed. They confirmed no double payment. I filed a police report. The scammer called back stating my payment on Saturday was a temporary payment. I hung up. I went back to the police. They called, but the scammer hung up on them.
