Type of a scam Phishing
I received a call this morning – land line phone. The male caller said he was calling for Mr. (my last name). He said he was from ? / garbled but having to do with Medicare and asked if I was on Medicare. I answered no. Then he asked if anyone else in the household was on Medicare, I answered yes, and he hung up. Later, got to thinking about I recalled hearing about the phishing scams where they are looking for a yes answer; Googled & read some about it. Sounds kind of like it. Also see another entry on this site that sounds similar….I suspect he was recording the call and will use my voice as evidence in some fraudulent purchase. No $ lost – YET!? Have no idea if they will attempt to.
