Total money lost $5,000

Type of a scam Credit Cards

Said I owed $299 for service.Indicated I had to enter the amount myself. In dong so, they indicated they would round the number up to $300.

I entered $300, but it came up as $3000. I told him this, but he said he could not change it. The only way to fix it was for me to pay off the amounts with credit cards. I bought a cards from Sephora for $500 each, 4 cards for $500 ea. at Walmart, and 4 from Target for $500 ea.

I was questioned as to why I needed these cards, and told them they were gifts Once outside the store, I was to call immediately with the card numbers and pins. My trusting mind did as told, but I was very suspicious by this time (duh). He asked me to continue, and I refused. He offered me $300 to continue, but I said no. I contacted my bank and started a scam report and contacted the police. A report was filed, but nothing could be reimbursed since I was a participant in the scam.
