Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Received a total of 3 checks. Total was $7486.62. Was instructed to cash check and buy gift cards. When done to send pictures of gift cards then to mail them to addresses given. 2 of the assignments were to be sent to the salvation army. So didn’t think it was a bad thing if it was sent there. Third assignment was walmart gift cards. As soon as my bank contacted me that the first check was returned, (after a week) I immediately contacted the guy, TONY EDISON, and was told by him that they wanted my bank number to contact to fix this issue. waited a little bit and called bank and was told noone had contacted them. Called walmart gift card number and the balances on the cards were all zero. So this was a very hard lesson. Don’t think my family and I can ever recover from this loss.
