After you press one they ask for your name. They then try to convince you that your social security number is suspended and after you take care of the issue you will be issued another social security number. I’m still laughing. I tried to tell the guy with the strange accent that you keep that number forever. I then asked him if he works for the social security office what branch of the government is that. He then replies with security. Wow. You think they would at least try and know things like that. After i told him I know it was a scam he was still trying to tell me that my number is suspended.

I received a voice mail from 1-844-714-8183 with the following message… "So when you get this message kindly revert as soon as possible on our number that is 844-714-8183. I repeat 844-714-8183 before we begin with the legal proceedings thank you and have a nice day…" A screenshot of this is attached to this email.

I called the number – a gentleman with a thick accent said he was from the Social Security Administration Office and needed to verify my first name, last name and my SSN.

I knew this was a hoax so I continued, out of curiosity, with the conversation which lasted about 10 minutes by continually giving him false information. I told him my name was Hamar Alfuju and my SSN was 844-71-8183 – which is the phone number I received the message from. He acted like he was typing my information into his computer and was able to see all of it. He kept asking me to verify my SSN and asked what state issued that number. I kept up with my false information by repeating that same SSN and said it was issued in Connecticut.

He said that he had a 35 page document charging me with money laundering and drug trafficking with a warrant out for my arrest – but not to worry he would help me by getting me a new SSN because it looked liked like I was a victim of identity theft according to my records that he was able to see on his computer screen.

He wanted to know my date of birth, what state I lived in, if I was single – married – or dating, did I work or was I retired, what my job title was and what company I worked for. He wanted to know what time I got off work because he liked the sound of my voice and wanted to call me whenever he "missed me"… I kept asking about the 35 page document – asked how I could receive it. He repeatedly told me not to worry that he would take care of it – that it wasn’t my fault and I wasn’t in trouble. He said that he would contact the SS Admin Office in the town I lived in to set up an appointment for me to meet with them so I could receive a new SSN. He kept changing the conversation to make it more personal by insisting on calling me "after hours" because he thought I was hot and I didn’t sound like the "62 year" old I was portraying.

I asked him how many other people received the phone message to call this office because I could hear several other Arabic men in the background saying and asking the same questions he was asking me.

I continued to keep the conversation on track regarding the 35 page document – how I could go to the SS Admin Office in my city without his assistance – and how I did not want to speak with him after work hours. He became extremely frustrated with me and hung up.

This was the creepiest conversation I have ever had in my life!!! The sad thing is there are people that actually believe everything these scam artists tell them and wind up giving their information to these ***!!!

My husband called the number back and gave them a false name and refused to give his social security number. He told them they should have the number since they called us. He finally gave them a false last four numbers of social security number. The scammer then proceeded to tell him that there was a police raid on a house in Texas (we are in FL) where drugs and a car had been confiscated. He said the car came back as being rent by my husband – all of this based on a false name and social security number – and that he would be arrested. At this point my husband said, "Now let me tell you a story. I work for the Putnam County sheriff’s office and this call has been recorded. I will be turning this recording over to my superior who works for the Alachua County sheriff’s office and he will be contacting you." The scammer asked, "You work for the sheriff’s office?" To which he responded,"Yes." The scammer said,"Oh, God!" and hung up!

My mother has gotten several phone calls from this number. When you first answer phone it’s like a computer is talking saying you have defrauded the Social Security and if you don’t speak to one of the reps that there going to arrest you and freeze all of your accounts. Then when they come on phone it says their Social Security Office and that your speaking to Officer ?. They told my mother that she was to go to Best Buy and put all her money onto a prepaid card. When my mother mentioned calling her bank they told her she wasn’t allowed to and wouldn’t let her off phone. They said if she hung up she’d be arrested. After riding to Best Buy etc my moms phone was going dead and they told her they would call her back. After that she informed me of what had taken place. Now as I’m sitting with her they called again saying they were officer so and so etc. I told them to never call this number again and they immediately hung up. I tried calling number back and it doesn’t receive calls. Please Be Aware.

As you answer the call you will hear a pre-recorded message which warns that this is a call from the Social Security Office, and that your social security benefits have been placed on hold due to suspicious activity. You will then be prompted to press 1 on your phone to speak to an agent about your "case". I pressed 1 and was greeted by an individual supposedly named Mark, who claimed to be a social security officer. I asked him: "so still doing the social security scam huh?". To which he replied "yep". I said: "good luck to ya", and he said "you too". I then ended the call. I suspect they were after money.

This telephone scam seems to be a re-run of a scam that first appeared in 2017,

when the FTC heard from 3,200 people who had been defrauded. It seems to have

popped up again in late 2018, with more than 35,000 reports and now again in 2019.

This is an apparent telephone scam to attempt to obtain personal data with the caller posing as an agent

of "the Social Security Office". A person pretending to be with the administration calls

victims and says their social security number is "about to be suspended" due to suspicious activity.

I recvd a voice message on my answering machine April 12, 10:04 am :

the message was garbled at times but I could clearly hear :

"your social security number is about to get suspended"

"extremely time sensitive"

"the hotline to our agent is 315-257-2450"

it was an odd accent and echos in the background made it sound like a "boiler room call center"

(ask the "old guys" what a "boiler room" is LOL )

315-257-2450 is in Seneca Falls, NY but this is almost certainly a spoofed VOIP number.

this is apparently the same scam/ interstate telephone crime that has been going around since 2017

Left a message to call a Maryland phone #, called the # back and was told that it was Social Security Fraud office and was told that there was a vehicle rented under his name, found in Texas, said 28 lbs of cocaine and several thousands of dollars in cash, and started accusing me of drug smuggling and money laundering. I spoke with Alex Watson. Eric Foster, the supposedly FBI investigator got on the phone too, couldn’t barely understand their language. I asked them what time it was where they were at and they said they didn’t understand the question.

12 different accounts in my name in 3 different banks, U.S Bank, Chase Bank and Bank of America. One of the banks I have an account with.

Eric gave me a bade #786259. I had a hard time understanding what he was saying and said that a Google card would secure the money I had in my checking account from being taken and seized by the IRS. It was too late because I already gave him my SS# and DOB and a the make and model of one of my vehicles. He wanted to know if I was a home owner and I told him him NO. Before that I asked him what address he had to send the agents out to my home to "arrest me" within 24 hour to interview me and possibly arrest me. I told them to, Bring it." He demanded that I decide what I was going to do right now because when the call was broken there was no way for me to reach him again. I keep getting calls from this number. I told them to stop calling me because they were calling all day so far. They said they were from the Social Security Office. I didn’t believe they were actually from the Social Security Office so I told them to stop calling or I would report them. They hung up on me. Now they just call me back but don’t say anything on the phone.

This listing is in the US Govt pages of the 2017 YP Yellow Pages for Columbus, OH area. When you call 855-210-1027, they do not answer "Soc.Security." Instead, an accented voice tells you you’ve been selected for a $100 Walmart gift card, but they need the name and birth date on the debit card you use to access your SSI payments. If you are gullible enough to give them that, they quickly hang up. Luckily my friend who fell for this had withdrawn his monthly payment and had only $5 in his account; he quickly called the card issuing company, who cancelled his card and issued him a new one.

The original call was silent and a disconnect. Then there becomes a voicemail of they are not asking for donation) asking for info through some sort of ackward survey. She does expect txt msg and through spokeo location finder there’s a address link to midvale Utah and a name of thee indvl whom created thee acct with thee telephone company of metro PCs. Even thee ScamPulse.com rep knew that ssi will, never call.! With thee I’d provided to thee phone company thee DMV asks for finger prints to obtain. Total scam artist and if I was mentally challenged as (expected) or over medicated even lonely, it would have been a conversation worth devolving my intrests due to thee opening statements of not being interested in donations! Something that would be expected from a faraway country not here. Being on bennifet which took rigorous exams to obtain and endless meetings including a lawyer! I have had thee opportunity of Comming across some indvls that are incapable of taking care of there own assets and intrests ( meaning I’ve pretty much befriended them in a social work type of experiment and it sucks ) only going to such extragence with those types n mind. Bad bad bad girl!

A call was received from someone who claimed to be from the social security office. They said they received a letter back as "undeliverable." They wanted a SSN and mother’s maiden name to identify who they were speaking with, so that they could update current address.

I received a phone call from the above phone number saying that they were from the Social Security Office and wanted to see if I pre-qualified for Social Security. As soon as I said I was already receiving Social Security, the man who called hung up. I tried to run a reverse phone number search and the number comes up as being out of Webb City, MO and is a VoiP number.

I’m suspecting that this individual was attempting to obtain personal information, such as my name and Social Security number. I knew better than to give out this information, fortunately.

These Foreigners (Indians) are using Hispanic names and fake ID Badge #’s and are claiming to be from the Social Security Office. They claim to be suspending your SS card or some junk. Do not give them any information! Block their number and hang up on these scammers!
