I received a call on my cell phone from someone claiming to be with the Social Security Administration. He said he was calling to advise me that my SSN was being suspended because of fraudulent activity. I told him that the only fraudulent activity with regard to my SSN is his call to me and hung up on him.

I regularly get these scam calls on my cell phone. They leave this message on my voice mail:

"Inform you that there is a legal enforcement action filed on your Social Security number for a fraudulent activities so when you get this message kindly account back as soon as possible before we begin with the legal proceeding you can reach us on our direct number which is 915.615-4192. I repeat 915.615-4192. Thank you and have a nice day.

They are preying on older people and scamming them out of as much of their life savings as they can. I call back the number and tell them they better get themselves a good lawyer because they police are on their way to arrest them. I never let them go into their scam script.

A robo call, where it stated my SSN was suspended due to suspicious activity. It then wanted me to text them back. The phone number belongs to someone named *** *** in Allen Texas. The number is also linked to a *** *** in Houston Texas. That’s just from some quick googling of the phone number. I know its a scam because that’s not how these situations are handled.

I got a phone call from 855-604-2075, which was a robocaller, saying I had suspicious activity on my social security number, and if I don’t do anything about it, my SS # will be blocked (yeah right). They gave me the option to "press 1 to talk to an agent" (which of course I did not). Since I didn’t actually press 1, I can’t tell if they were going to ask for money, however I’d bet they were. I have no doubt that others have been scammed. I never comply with stupid phone calls like this. If it’s from a government agency or from anyone, and it’s important enough, they’ll mail an official letter to me (and sometimes those aren’t even legit). I get way too many calls like this, and it’s annoying. Thankfully I haven’t been scammed because I don’t give any personal info or cc info over the phone.

I received a voicemail saying that I needed to call them back before legal action is taken against me. I returned the call and they said that my social has been used to open up several bank accounts. Those accounts were used to wire transfer $250,000-300,000 and that money was used to buy 8 pounds of cocaine. They said if I didn’t corporate with them they will turn the case into the local police department and I will get arrested and brought up on charges. I asked several questions about I know if this was real or not, because it was coming from a busy call center. You could hear other people talking in the background, and they said they would call me back from a SSA number. I also asked the guy his name and he said his name was Gary Cole. He wouldn’t let me ask any questions and he kept talking and it sounded like he was reading off a script I looked at the SSA website and asked them what the number would be I would get a call from. They gave me the TTY number and we hung up and I never got a call. I called the SSA’s actual number and they said they have had several reports of this happening.

I received a phone call from a number that I didn’t recognize so I didn’t answer it, like always. BUT, this time they left a voice message. So I listened to it and it said I had some fraudulent activity and needed to call this number-which she kept fading and I couldn’t hear it so I just called back the number from the first call. The caller let me know who they were representing and claimed that I had had a lot of fraudulent activity on my Social Security number. She said that they would need to cancel it, but first needed to ask me some questions to make sure I was the person with whom it belong to (she knew my first and last name). So I said ok. She asked what my date of birth was. I said no, but let me ask you where you are calling from. She spoke some words in a language I am not familiar with and hung up. I called back the number and it went to voice mail and said no one could help me at this time, but to leave a message.

They called again within the hour, I gave the phone to my husband, he called back saying he was a local police officer and he had been told by me that I had received a call from that number, and vulgar language had been used, to remove my number, then asked to speak to a supervisor, and was disconnected.
