Total money lost $3,000
Type of a scam Moving
They should give the option of negative stars. This experience was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever EVER had!! Deceptive from the start!! What started out as a 2,700 move essentially cost me am additional 3,000.00 in unnecessary expense. I asked Derrick to have someone come out and look at my stuff prior to the estimate, they don’t do that. I sent him pictures of my stuff and he based the estimate off the pictures. I was assured the estimate would not go up.. when the movers came to my home to pick up my stuff, he first informed me the cubic footage that Derrick quoted was off by approx. 300 CF and it would cost an additional 900.00, i was told all this after everything was put on the truck, i called Derrick and he said calm down and he would make adjustments once they reassessed the load (after that conversation, Derrick disappeared, would not accept my calls)….the foreman told me to put down you want your stuff the next business day, he said typically your stuff arrives 2 days later. That being said i planned accordingly. Didn’t expect this fiasco to be a 14 day move!!! I had three days worth of clothes, medicine, and no computer. I was under the impression once the movers got my stuff they would be headed to Florida, my new home…. Never once did they tell me my stuff would be redirected to their warehouse and sit on a pallet until they had a full load with multiple families to make the drive beneficial for them. When I called Julia in dispatch 3 days later she informed me my move had not even been scheduled!!! I lost it then, this move was emotional to begin with because I just lost my husband, when she told me it had not even been scheduled I broke down, she lightheartedly giggled and said common ma’am its not that bad. Are ya kidding me??? When the driver arrived 14 days later sitting at my gate he said there was no way he would be able to get am eighteen wheeler to my unit and it could cost an additional 800.00. I informed him Julia was given the condo associations number to verify acessability, evidently she never called. In all fairness Jacob the driver did get the truck in, and did his best. All in all, when all was said and done it cost met an additional 3,000 in unnecessary expense that could have been avoided had they been honest and forthright from the get go, had I known it was going to take two weeks I would have stayed in Chicago and worked another week, I would not have taken my daughter down with me to an empty home, sleeping on an air mattress while she waited for my stuff so she could help me unpack. So in conclusion, I get the concept that businesses need to make money, yet this companies deceptive practices should NOT be overlooked. This is the FIRST of many more information complaints I will be putting through. Consumers be informed, learn from my mistakes, BEWARE!!!
