Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I put a snow blade attachment for sale on Craigslist for $250. At this time, I had no idea a check scam even existed. I got a text from an interested person named "Smith M. Allen". He said he was out of town in Atlanta, and that he would send a check. I asked for paypal or google pay, but he insisted on a cashier’s check. Since he assured me the snow blade wouldn’t be picked up until after the check cleared, and i wasn’t aware of a scam, I agreed to it. Then he let me said that the check will be in excess. I was confused and not comfortable with it.

I asked him about that and he said the excess was for the movers. I questioned it again, and he said he’d be in contact. I happened to come across a news story about this very type of scam the same day! 4 days later, he texted from a different number and said his wife just had a baby and his other phone was having issues. He said the "tracking number" for payment is 9405512699350099425599, and asked me to deposit it. I told him the snow blade was sold. He said i will receive payment by Tuesday. I then ended with "We will not accept any payment". That was it. The full text conversations from both days are attached.
