My Stepson received a call on the landline at his Grandfather’s house, which was threatening him as they said they were calling from the Smith County Court House (the office of Larry Smith) and he had missed jury duty. They told him that missing jury duty was a federal offence and that he could be arrested unless he payed a fine immediately by purchasing 4x$80 Paypal gift cards and calling back with the card numbers.
He knew it was scam as they knew his first name but gave his Grandmother’s last name rather than his.
The person did not have a foreign accent and the number they gave to call back on was the same number they called from (404-615-4126) which comes up as Atlanta.
