Type of a scam Phishing

This was a very aggressive attack. While online browsing, a large notice appeared covering my entire screen, along with a loud noise. The message on the screen said that my pc had been compromised (don’t recall the exact words), and a phone number for me to call to fix the issue. It had info with a Microsoft emblem as well. I was not able to click out of this in any way on my own .. so I called the number… (now I know better).

Immediately a young man with an Indian accent said he could help. I had to give him control of my pc for him to do this. He said he saw the issues, and then began to type on the screen different cost options for me to choose in order to purchase the fix and tech support. I felt uneasy, even saying this sounded like a Scam … but I was stuck, and trusted that it would be okay. He cleared the problem (that I now understand HE created in the first place), and I was able to get back online and use my pc. They were trying hard to get me to purchase a very costly plan of tech support, but I was firm telling them I did not have money to buy any such nonsense. He then gave me a much lesser option when I assume he felt he was losing my attention to act, but still I made a purchase of $200.00. I still thought the Company was legitimate until I called back a few months later with an issue. Again, I spoke with several young men with thick Indian accents who said I had a different issue that was not covered by the first policy, and I needed to purchase another upgraded plan of support which was another $100.00. I did, and from then on my eyes were opened to the SCAM … I could not get them to send me an email or regular receipt for the transaction, every day I called to hear that they would send it soon .. that was a few months ago, and since I have done my homework on this company and found that the ScamPulse.com does NOT approve it, and has given it an F grading due to many people contacting with similar problems. The co. continues to pretend it is legitimate .. but BEWARE .. it is NOT! I have since changed ID’s, passwords and credit cards to ensure my safety.
