I responded to an ad on Craig’s list for a job being a secret shopper. I was sent a text message to approve me and the mailed a fake check for $2,900 and told to buy gift cards from two different stores and keep $300. After careful examination of the check, routing number and affiliated addresses I found out that the check was not real.
