Through Linkedin I saw an opportunity to make money as a secret shopper. I emailed them my desire to become a secret shopper and a few days later telling me I was accepted and would be receiving a check in the mail. About a week later I received a check for $2750. I was told to deposit and go buy (6) $400 Walmart gift cards and (1) $100 card. Once complete I was to scratch off the back numbers and send them pictures. After that I would get my next assignments. I deposited the check in my bank but was instructed to wait until it cleared before purchasing anything. I contacted my bank a few days later and they discovered it was a scam and a fraudulant check. Thankfully I did not make any purchases. Certainly a lesson learned that when something is too good to be true, it usually is.
