I contacted Garmin, USA for updating my GPS. I was having trouble downloading an update for my GPS maps. I kept getting transferred until I got some India, or whatever person or location, and they updated everything & generally seemed to do a very good job. This was for free. Then I was told that they found some problems on my computer while fixing the GPS download. A service was offered for a certain price. They did the repair, on-line and over the phone, I was pleased with the work. Different prices were offered from one-time service to lifetime. Like a dummy I chose lifetime which cost $699.99. Purchase was made in Sept. 2017. Now, in April, 2018 when I need the service, nobody answers. The phone rings for about 2 min. then disconnects. I’ll be contacting my credit card and the FTC. On my bill, the location was indicated as GA with what appeared to be a phone number, also inactive.
