Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan
Someone claiming to be "Chris Woods" from "Shiny Home Services, based in Virginia" called offering a home vent cleaning service. (It was a wrong number intended for an older woman for whom I get regular scam calls.) Insisted that he was going to "send out technicians" to my home, and was aggressive about scheduling a time. He did not ask for credit card or other personal info before I called him out on being a scammer, and he got angry and hung up. The website he directed me to (shinyhomeservices.com) is IDENTICAL to delightairservices.com… and none of the addresses listed are real. Before hanging up, I questioned how I could know that "Chris Woods" was his real name, and he said he would send a copy of his "National Identity Card" with his technicians. Of course, the United States does not have a program for "National Identity Cards". He also promised to send his Social Security card, but *only* if I agreed to make an appointment. (By far, the weirdest offer I’ve had yet from a scammer…) I didn’t get far enough into the call to figure out what information they were actually looking for.
