I was told that I was officially canceled after deactivating my account within the 4 week trial period, and that I would be removed from the mailing list. However, then I was charged on 2 separate occasions. This has been a very frustrating process, and I should not have been charged anything. My account was somehow reactivated without my consent. When I wrote back, I was told my account had been canceled, and I have since been charged twice. Shaw Academy informed me that they were unable to process a refund, which is unacceptable.

Shaw Academy scams a large number of people everyday with their free courses for what they subscribe in a good belief, but then SA starts charging them and it is impossible to cancel the course in time and to get the stolen money back.

Support is either inactive or sending mindless automatic answers with no help.

They do not want to understand what is wrong with all this and are completely rigid about helping people.

I registered for a free course. Paid to get a toolkit. Then got an offer to get same toolkit for free if I answered a survey! Couldn’t access it. Sent them email asking for help. App had no instructions. Got tens of automated emails none with any information. App didn’t download manage payments page. Tried to access by “unlocking module” and got charged another 69.99 and couldn’t reverse it. No human to talk to. Very frustrating to deal with. They just pressure you to pay for things then offer it for free so you can stay on so they can sneak in other charges.

Bored of binge watching??? Why not learn a new skill? Get FREE access to our Online Course which gives you a thorough foundation in Graphic Design which you can use to advance your career or purely for personal reasons."

The free trial is useless. You have to buy all the toolkits for each of the classes. You can only access then you’d have to pay for the certificates.

I tried cancelling my free subscription immediately. After 7 pages of cklicking "Yes, I’m sure I want to cancel", it took me to a page saying to confirm cancellation I’d have to call a phone number in the UK.

This is a total scam and they need to be stopped!

I signed up for a one month free trial with Shaw Academy since I saw an ad on Facebook. While trying to access a course, I clicked in error on the purchase of a toolkit I did not want. The price was not listed on the screen and there was not a second confirmation for the purchase. I was charged $45.99 and they refused to refund me when I immediately contacted them after saying I didn’t access any of the content yet. They offered credits to purchase more toolkits for course content which I already said I do not want. They will also not let me remove my payment information off of the website.

This website has charged my account $39 without my consent. I was in a call with customer service to cancel my account and they charged my account instead of cancelling my service. When I call and email about a refund they simply ignore my messages. I have never used their service. I realized this was a scamming website only after few seconds of signing up for free services and I don’t have any purchased product. Please help me get my refund.

Do NOT trust Shaw Academy! Do not even sign up for the free trial! I signed up for the free trial and I was unable to use the course due to time constraints during the pandemic. I went to cancel and I saw that they had already charged me $69.99 unauthorized and for no reason. I kindly reached out to ask for a refund and they denied my refund. When I argued that the charge was wrong and unauthorized, they instead offered me a year membership. I do not recommend this to anyone – if you are targeted for their ads on Instagram or Facebook, just know that the trial is not free as they falsely advertise and that you can find a much more legitimate design course online where you can guarantee a much better education with no hidden fees. Shaw Academy is not the way and I stand among the thousands of other people on twitter who have also been scammed by Shaw Academy. We are kindly requesting our money back as we feel robbed by this illegitimate company.

Hello, Shaw academy advertise themselves during Corona virus to offer a week up to 4 week free trial of their learning courses. I accepted the week trial of the learning courses to learn social media marketing, the first week of April 2020. Within 3 days I did not even like the way the online course for social media marketing taught. I canceled my free trial. I received confirmation that my membership was canceled. In that email they offered me two free months, I did not reply. I did not want two free months, I did not want to deal with shaw academy again. Later in June I saw they charged me for May and June. They charged for those "two free months" after I had canceled my membership. I immediately looked for a way to contact Shaw academy. They have no phone number for contact anywhere. They don’t have a customer support email either, just a few random email addresses I found from emails they already sent me, therefore I used those email addresses to get in contact. A few of them were automated but I finally found one that seemed like a customer support address. I wrote about my cancellation and I need a refund. They responded saying the membership was reactivated, they cannot refund my money but they will offer me a 6 month free gift. I replied no, because they charged me for the two month free gift that I never even wanted in the first place.

Shaw academys response was to give me a 1-year membership. But still no refund. I replied no. I wanted a refund, they charged $69.99 for May and again for June. These"two free months" that were never free, and after I canceled my membership. I finally looked at reviews all over the internet. There are hundreds of reviews stating that shaw academy did the exact same thing to these people. On top of that, they delete any negative comment that is on their front page of their website. They show only fake reviews. On Trust Pilot.com they have hundreds and hundreds of reviews saying this is a scam, and the same thing happened to these people. Shaw academy even kept taking money out of these account until people canceled their own credit cards.

I am still emailing with Shaw academy, and I’m still trying to get my money back. I’ve filed a claim with my bank. Please help me reveal Shaw academy as a scam. I’ve read plenty of reviews and had an experience for myself and someone has to shut them down.

Thank you

Shaw Academy advertises on Instagram extensively. They will make post about a free trial period of classes and you have to register in order to get the trial membership. Once you enter in your credit card information, they send emails about your classes (which are not self-paced, this is one way they lead you on as a consumer), and tell you that you need to make a class schedule. Also, you cannot cancel your ‘free’ trial online. You have to click on links that ultimately lead you to call a phone number in order to cancel your account. Once I called the phone number and actually spoke to someone, she assured me that my account had been cancelled (after asking me over and over again "Are you sure you don’t want to try the classes?") I told her to cancel my account immediately. Fast forward one month, Shaw Academy had charged my account $69.95. Again, there’s no way to cancel the account and ‘free trial’ online so now I have to call my bank and report the fraudulent charge. In addition, Shaw Academy sent me an email asking for a screenshot of my bank account, which I attached.

They advertised a free course trial for a duration of 4 weeks. They will charge at the end of 4 weeks. Upon registration I realized that it’s not free afterall so I tried cancelling the membership. They have no way to cancel it and they have charged me $69 CAD already for nothing. I am more concerned as I am not able to delete my card information from their website and there is no way to reach them at by phone.
