Charity Fraud Alert
Someone from a group called Set Em Up Canada conned my mother into donating $50 saying it would help kids afford sports equipment. They gave her a piece of paper with the Set em Up Canada name and website on it.
After further research I realized they are not registered with the CRA nor are they licensed.
Their website says they are a for profit, and based on what I read online, all my $50 is going to do is line the pockets of some low life fraudsters.
The "charity" website doesn’t even have an address or a phone number on it. They have a facebook page that lists someone by the name of Matt Mcbride as the owner.
After reading the reddit posts a poster mentioned that Matt mcbride was fired from his job at an insurance company for committing fraud and so he decided to move onto this as his next scheme.
When I googled set em up Canada I found these posts on reddit, looks like there is lots of others who have also fallen for this scam.

They are a typical charity fraud scheme. The charity does not exist. Please beware of this group, ask questions before you donate.
